Abstract
The models that Dante adapted and integrated for the scenarios that make up the three realms of
the Divine Comedy, once identified and interpreted with the support of the Dantean ‘clock’ and the
rules imposed upon it by the author, enable the reconstruction of a ‘bird’s eye’ map of the
movements of Dante (as protagonist) and Virgil. This is demonstrated here with reference solely to
the journey through Hell.

Keywords
Clock; Dante; Divine Comedy; Space; Time
